WHAT COURSES DO I NEED TO BECOME AN OFFICIAL?

Before you begin your journey to become a part of the OMHA Officials program we ask that you contact your local Minor Hockey Association to find out of their demand for new officials, when games will take place and how this fits your schedule.

To become an official in the OMHA you will need to complete the following course:

There are two prerequisite courses that will need to be completed :

  1. Hockey Canada Officiating Program - Intro
  2. Respect in Sport - Officials Program

After you have completed the two prerequisite courses you will need to take an Entry Level Clinic.

To view clinics go to https://register.hockeycanada.ca/clinics

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE OHF AND OMHA SELECTED IN THE DROP DOWN MENUS AS WELL AS SELECT THE OFFICIALS TAB ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PAGE.

NOTE: If you are 18 years or older you will need a VSC  submitted to the OHF office before you will be able to officiate games.
